Rock Climbing and Mountaineering - A Photo Blog

May 11, 2017

Wesley Gooch is the author of Rock Climbing Jackson Hole & Pinedale, Wyoming and is the creator and driving force behind the guidebook’s sister website, ClimbingWyoming.com.

By choice, Wesley has enjoyed his entire life within the Greater Yellowstone region, and it is likely that this circumstance will never change!  Born in Jackson and raised in Pinedale, he grew up climbing and exploring the Teton and Wind River Mountain ranges.  At thirteen, he was introduced to the sport of rock climbing and was hooked for life!  The alpine rock of the Wind River Mountains has been Wesley’s primary source of climbing inspiration.  Wesley pursues many forms of climbing: bouldering, sport, trad, alpine, and ice climbing.

In 2005, Wesley published his guide’s first edition.  Five years later, he received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Montana State University in Bozeman.  In 2011, he moved back to Wyoming and is presently residing in Jackson Hole.  Wesley believes some of the region’s best routes have yet to be done – the third edition of his guide could double in size!

Feel free to contact him through ClimbingWyoming.com for guidebook and climbing related inquiries, comments, feedback, or criticism.
